I dread doubtful probability
Imagine hostility
Distrust the stability
Of the firmly established
I lack simple humility
Scoff at adaptability
Then put on fragility
At the mention of what’s past
Anxiety with irrepressibility
Convincing me of the futility
And lack of viability
Of my propensity for change
I search for tranquility
Make a break from puerility
And claim responsibility
For the ways I walk the earth
